About CDA Army

CDA (Army) Meerut is an integral part of Defence Accounts Department, headed by Controller General of Defence Accounts, functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Defence.

The office of the CDA (Army) Meerut came into existence on 01/01/1995 after the reorganization of CDA (CC) and CDA(ORs) North Meerut. CDA(Army) is committed for catering efficient and prompt services to the Army having its audit jurisdiction up to Joshimath in Uttarakhand, Agra and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. CDA(Army) Meerut has the responsibility of a Regional controller and Other Ranks Controller. This office is headed by a Controller of Defence Accounts and is mainly engaged in following important functions:

(i) All works connected with the audit and payment, classification and accounting of bills relating to pay and allowances, TA etc. of Defence Civilian officers and subordinates, miscellaneous allowances, contingencies, payments of bills for stores, supplies and works, local audit of the stores and MES accounts and the inspection of cash accounts of units and formations in the areas under its jurisdiction.

(ii) Financial Advice to the Army Units under its Audit jurisdiction.

The accounting and internal audit of all Army formations including MES under its jurisdiction. CDA(Army) also furnishes such statistics relating to accounts as the Army authorities may require for carrying out a systematic review of expenditure under locally controlled heads, with the object of restricting expenditure within reasonable limits, of avoiding un-necessary expenditure and of utilization of savings towards objects of importance in maintaining the efficiency of the Defence Services.
